Things I loved today
Having co-workers who ended a meeting early to watch the inauguration.
The co-worker who brought a box of tissues to the viewing and passed it around.
The co-workers who unabashedly took tissues because this was a day that was justifiably emotional.
Aretha Franklin’s hat! Seriously! I truly think this woman could bring back the hat. I have had the urge to buy a hat from Hubka Millinery since I first saw her hats a few years ago. But now I wish for one even more.
Watching Barak’s daughter’s take pictures of their daddy give his speech. These girls are going to have such a hard time growing up in the public eye and I have a huge urge to protect them. But I’m hoping that their self-esteem and confidence is strong enough that they won’t need help. If they have half the poise (hee hee) of their mother, they’ll be fine.
Hearing President Obama say “forebearers” instead of “forefathers”. Language matters people. This subtle word choice was probably missed by most, but say it enough and we just might get it to replace forefathers. yes we can.
Seeing everyone at work smile. No, seeing people beam.
Feeling hopeful and positive despite some frustrations. That, my fine reader, is priceless.

A few people gathered around my cube to watch, and I heard someone else listening to a live feed over the cube wall. Priceless indeed!
